Garrett County Celtic Festival. It was a day filled with beautiful music, delicious food, fascinating historical presentations, talented dancers, incredible athletes, and SO much more. For one day, the community park in Friendsville, Maryland is transformed into a Celtic haven. The event hosts Celtic clans from all over the tri-state region and beyond, folks who cherish their history and will let it live on for generations to come. My boys really enjoyed the Rainbow's End children's area where they had their faces painted like dragons and wild Celtic beasts, and also participated in the children's Celtic Games like "toss the Haggis". The weather could not have been more beautiful for this event that gave it's attendants the choice of five stages where they could learn about Celtic history, watch students of traditional Celtic dance share their craft, or hear the brilliant tunes of regional musicians.
