There is something about the Fourth of July... Not only do we celebrate the birth of our nation and the freedom we enjoy, it's the ultimate celebration of summer. And there is no better place to summer than at Deep Creek Lake. This year, the lake was the focal point of our Fourth of July celebration. Eric and the kids enjoyed the sandy beach at Sky Valley during the day. Then I got to join them after a half day of work for some fun on the boat. Later we met up with the Jay Ferguson family in McHenry and enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display. the fireworks are always amazing and this year they seemed even better! folks are reporting that there must have been 2000 boats in McHenry Cove! But what really stole the show was the glorious moon that came up over the water as the fireworks were dying down. It was an absolutely amazing day smack dab in the middle of a great Deep Creek Weekend!
