Sky Valley at Deep Creek Lake

Deep Creek Lake is made up of many small communities, neighborhoods, and unique pockets that make it a beautiful place to spend time. In my opinion, the Sky Valley community in Swanton, Maryland is the absolute best of the best. Located on the Southern Part of the lake, the water area is calm and represents the pace at which Deep Creek Lake is best served. There are many types of homes that make up the landscape of Sky Valley. There are cozy cabins, spacious chalets, interesting cottages, and then there are homes like 585 Summit Drive, draped in surprising luxury.

The amenities for this welcoming area are numerous! They include a large community dock system with special PWC docks, canoe and kayak storage, a lake area equipped with easy-to-maneuver stair cases, pavilions, and even restrooms! They offer a sandy beach with a bunch of new picnic tables, a swim platform, and even a roped off swimming area. One of the best features in the community is the private boat launch, available only to Sky Valley homeowners and guests. The fishing pond is stocked with about 100 native fish each year. Lounge in the gazebo that overlooks the pond and enjoy warm summer days! The kiddos will love the playground, sandbox, and basketball hoop. There is a trash compactor on site to help keep nuisance animals from... well, causing a nuisance. While all of this sounds like a lot of fun for the warm months, the community hasn't forgotten to include winter fun too! The sled riding hills near the community area are a BLAST!

There is a full-time property manager and maintenance crew on-site. The maintenance building houses all of the necessary equipment that helps keep Sky Valley beautiful! But it also provides a space for HOA meetings. The staff works hard to keep the roads in tip-top shape making this neighborhood perfect for walking, jogging, or riding a four-wheeler, golf cart, side-by-side, or bicycle around the roads. There is a speed limit of 15 miles an hour to keep the roads looking good and the community members safe.

When purchasing a home in Sky Valley, you automatically have access to all of the community areas. The only thing with any waiting period at all is the dock slip system. According to property manager, Rick Broadwater, there is usually a one season wait. BUT FEAR NOT, with the option to launch your boat within the community, you will still enjoy the water as it is intended!
