The 21st Annual Deep Creek Dunk

The Deep Creek Dunk in its 21st year has a goal to raise $200,000 in 2019 for Maryland Special Olympics! Hosted by the Maryland State Police and Natural Resources Police at the Honi Honi Bar on the shores of Deep Creek Lake in Oakland, Maryland. Special Olympics Maryland is a year-round sports organization dedicating to providing life-changing sports training and competition opportunities to Maryland's citizens with intellectual disabilities. SOMD currently serves thousands of athletes statewide, and offers 28 sports, all at no cost to the athletes or their families. Learn more at www.somd.org.

Dunkers take a daring dip into the frozen Deep Creek Lake to benefit the 7,782 athletes of Special Olympics Maryland. All across the state, all year long, SOMD athletes are training and competing in one of our 27 different sports, reaping the benefits of the programs both on and off the playing fields.

This year's event takes place on February 22 and 23. On Friday, enjoy Goosebumps and Grapes. Various Wine & Beer Tasting to kick off Dunk weekend! Entry fee is a $20 donation that goes directly to the 7,782 athletes of Special Olympics Maryland. There will be live music from the Honi House Band.While you are warming up, come to the Honi Honi to pick up your sweatshirt and Dunk Zone wrist band on Friday night and avoid the lines and be ready to enjoy the day on Saturday!
